If you want to do some fishing during your next Laguna Beach vacation, you’ll want to know that the Laguna Beach coastline, from top to bottom, is a no fishing zone. Included in this no fishing zone is the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve and the Laguna Beach State Marine Conservation Area, which cover an additional 6.27 square miles offshore. All marine life is protected by prohibiting the removal of any wildlife on the entire coastline and two mentioned arias. LAGUNA’S HIDDEN HISTORIES: Do you know how the Main Beach Lifeguard Tower crossed PCH to its permanent home on Main Beach in 1937? The Lifeguard Tower at Main Beach may be the most photographed public building in Laguna Beach. Both quaint and functional, the hexagon-shaped structure is one of this community’s treasures, residents say. It’s a landmark and has been the subject of many postcards and many paintings. A stand-up paddleboarder got a killer view of a pod of orca whales that swam under his board off the coast of Laguna Beach, California. My dream of seeing Orcas (aka killer whales) recently came true. Watch as a friendly pod of 5 orcas interacts with me on my paddle board.
