After working from abroad all semester, intern Breanne came and visited us in Laguna Beach for the first time. She attended all of our local fun and exciting activities as we did our best to abuse her as little as possible, and she blogged about her experience. I’ll let her take it from here…
Included in my welcome basket at The Retreat In Laguna was a breakfast voucher for The Beach House. The house was built in the 1920’s and the restaurant has retained much of its original woodwork, fixtures and wrought iron remain to this day.
Located just a few steps away from The Retreat In Laguna (‘The Retreat’), this restaurant has lots of character and charm. As you enter the restaurant your taken through a beautiful garden oasis complete with seating, fountains and ferns. Through there you enter the dining hall that over looks the ocean.
When I arrived the restaurant was all a buzz with guests peering out the window. There was a whale! It was surfacing and spraying water just off shore, everyone in the restaurant was glued to the window.
I took a peak at their website before I left The Retreat and knew exactly what I was going to get. French toast! This was no regular French toast though, this was bread covered in granola and cooked to perfection, topped with berries and drizzled with syrup. It was A-maz-ing!
The views, the food and close proximity to The Retreat make it the perfect place to grab a breakfast bite to eat in Laguna Beach.
